Find out more about Allergy Testing & Treatment

Millions of Americans suffer from nasal allergies, commonly known as hay fever. Many common substances such as pollens, food, mold, dust, feathers, animal dander, chemicals, drugs such as penicillin, and environmental pollutants commonly cause allergic reactions.

Allergies are rarely life-threatening, but often cause lost work days, decreased work efficiency, poor school performance, and a negative effect on the quality of life. Allergies are a major health and economic issue with millions of dollars spent on anti-allergy medications and significant cost due to lost work time.

The Oregon Ear, Nose and Throat Center (OENT) physicians provide care for patients with seasonal and year-round allergies. We offer complete evaluation and medical treatment for these allergy issues. In addition, we offer testing to determine the specific sources of your symptoms. In some cases subcutaneous immunotherapy (allergy shots) may be recommended. Immunotherapy is a method of treating allergies by desensitizing individuals to allergens over time, in many cases with the goal that they be cured of their allergies. Our skilled allergy nurses work in conjunction with our physicians offering allergy testing, counseling and immunotherapy to help determine the substances causing your discomfort and develop a management plan that will help make your life more enjoyable.
