Cancer and Tumor Surgery

Find out more about Cancer and Tumor Surgery of the Head and Neck

The Oregon Ear, Nose and Throat (OENT) physicians received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, and are board-certified in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. Weparticipate in the Tumor Board at Providence Medford Medical Center and Rogue Regional Medical Center that includes multidisciplinary treatment of cancers including radiation and chemotherapy. Signs of cancer of the head and neck include changes in the skin, pain, prolonged hoarseness, and sudden loss of voice. If you suffer from any of these symptoms you should see your physician immediately.

The OENT physicians perform an initial diagnosis in the office with procedures such as fine needle aspiration, flexible endoscopy and biopsies. We can then perform excision of the initial tumor as well as neck dissections that remove the lymph nodes at risk in the neck, and we will continue to follow the patient for several years afterwards. We also treat skin cancers, including melanoma, cancers of the nose, throat, and larynx, salivary gland tumors, and thyroid tumors.
